Alison Whittle

Supporting, enabling and empowering people with mental ill health to move forward, understand their condition and manage and improve their own quality of life is something I am deeply passionate about.

I worked within the public sector’s health and wellbeing services for more over 12 years. My first role was as an employment adviser, working a part of an NHS mental health team. Later I worked as an employment specialist for Essex County Council, supporting adults with learning disabilities and mental ill health. Progressing within Essex Cares, I became a manager at a work based training day centre for adults with learning disabilities, managing a team of employment advisers, horticulture support workers, Café and catering team.

I joined Mid Essex Mind in June 2014 to establish and manage the mid Essex support, time and recovery (STaR) service. More recently, I have become part of the core management team for the newly formed Mid and North Essex Mind, and continue to manage the mid area STaR service.
