People volunteer with us for a wide range of reasons. As well as being a great way to support a local charity, it’s also an opportunity to get involved in your local community, learn new skills, improve your CV, build your confidence and meet new people.
Please send your completed application form to Bev Coltart at B.Coltart@mnessexmind.org or Mid and North Essex Mind, The Constantine Centre, 272a Mersea Road, Colchester CO2 8QZ.
If you wish to have an informal conversation about volunteering please contact Helen Barrett at firstname.lastname@example.org or 01206 764600.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised volunteer with a friendly disposition, to work on the busy reception desk at our Head Office in Colchester. The role will involve welcoming clients and visitors and general administration duties.
Activity Support Volunteer
The aim of the Activity Support Volunteer is to create or extend someone’s own personal social network of support.
The service exists to support adults aged from 17 to 65 years living within the Colchester and Tendring districts who are experiencing or have experienced mental health problems. It may be that someone has a long standing involvement with the community mental health teams or as is sometimes the case, under their own GP experiencing a period of mild to moderate depression and/or anxiety.
Community Fundraising Volunteer
Here at Mid and North Essex Mind we’re only a small fundraising team working hard to support people raising money for us.
Because we’re a small team we really need volunteers who can help us by doing things like attending events, running bucket collections and organising their own fundraising events and groups. You only need to volunteer the time you can manage.
Anyone can volunteer and we’d really appreciate your help though you do need to be at least 17.
Volunteer Collection Pot Coordinator
We need volunteers across Mid and North Essex to find new locations to site our collection pots. You will be out and about in the local community dropping off and collecting current pots, as well as researching new sites e.g. pubs, hotel receptions, shops and local businesses.
Due to the travel required for this role, a driving license and own vehicle would be essential.
Trustee – Treasurer
Term of office: 3 year
Purpose: The Treasurer will serve as a trustee of the charity to ensure sound management of the finances of the charity in compliance with requirements of governance, charity law and company law.
Time commitment: This is a voluntary role and includes bi-monthly trustee meetings which take place on weekday evenings at our Head Office in Colchester. Including time spent working on financial matters, the overall time commitment is unlikely to exceed 1 day per month.
