Blog: Introducing our new Futures in Mind Service Coordinators

posted in: Uncategorized | 0

Hi, we are Devina and Will, the new service coordinators for Futures in Mind. We are both recent psychology graduates with an interest in mental health within the community. This interest stems from previous experiences and previous employment.

Futures in Mind provides inclusive support for individuals with mental ill health and/or substance misuse. We are the only service in England that aims to help individuals with this dual diagnosis as they can often go hand in hand. We provide support for our service users through peer led activities, befriending/mentoring and skills programmes. These include welcome cafes, fitness projects, outdoor activities and a parenting group. We are always looking for new ways to expand our activities based on what our service users would like to do.

Futures in Mind are constantly looking for volunteers to act as befrienders/mentors and also assist in running our projects. Any help is very much appreciated – take a look at our volunteer roles here.

Working for Futures in Mind is rewarding, to be putting the service users first and seeing their progress whilst engaging with us. Many of our service users look forward to attending our projects and meeting other people and this has resulted in them forging strong friendships with each other.

“Helping one person might not change the world, but it could change the world for one person”.
