Take part in your very own tandem skydive for Mid and North East Essex Mind – a tandem skydive is the easiest and most popular of all skydives. It requires only 30 minutes of training before you jump strapped to your instructor! The BPA (British Parachute Association) qualified tandem instructor does all of the hard work for you, allowing you to enjoy the exhilarating feeling of flying through the clouds from over 10,000 feet at up to 120 mph! It is a truly unforgettable experience.

Colchester 10k

The Rotary Club of Colchester Trinity promotes and organises the annual Charity Colchester 10k Race on the second Sunday in May each year. It will again start and end at Abbey Fields, the traditional venue for large scale events in the historic Roman town of Colchester. To enter in the event click here.

Essex Castle Bike Ride

A great day’s cycling starting in Colchester Castle Park, the ride offers three beautiful circular routes of 25, 50 or 75 miles, taking you along the quiet country lanes and through the picturesque village of Essex.

Prudential Ride London – Surrey 100

3rd – 4th August 2019

Celebrating the legacy for cycling created by the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Prudential Ride London – Surrey 100 starts in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, then follows a 100 mile route on closed roads through the capital and into Surrey’s stunning countryside. National Three Peaks Challenge

28th – 30th June

Take on the highest mountains in the UK! Brace yourself for a fast-paced and physically challenging adventure, as you take on the highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales. Considered as one of Britain’s toughest outdoor challenges, the National Three Peaks Challenge takes in the dizzy heights of Ben Nevis (1,344m), Scafell Pike (978m) and Snowdon (1,085m). Over the course of two days, you will trek around 26 miles and ascend to a total height of almost 3,000m. This is a serious and tough challenge which requires a good level of fitness as well as plenty of grit and determination. Ultimately, however, your hard work will be rewarded with spectacular views and a huge sense or achievement. Trek provided by Charity Challenge.

Ben Nevis Trek

21st – 23rd June

This challenge takes you into the heart of the breath taking Western Highlands in order to conquer the highest peak in Britain set at 1,343m (4,409ft) above sea level. The trail to the summit is technically easy, but trekking Ben Nevis is a challenge – stamina and determination are a must! The stunning views of the highlands will be with us all the way and provide a fantastic backdrop to one of the most sought after charity challenges in the UK! Hadrian’s Wall Trek

28th – 30th June 2019

This most ancient of charity treks takes you from Lanercost Priory to Brocolitia, encompassing some of the most visited and fascinating ruins.

Hadrian’s Wall was built in AD122 on the orders of the Roman Emperor Hadrian, and stretched from the East to West coasts of Britain, from Bowness on Solway in the West to Wallsend in the East. It is the most remarkable Roman monument in the country and quite unique throughout the former Empire. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site which cuts through Northumberland National Park, Hadrian’s Wall attracts trekkers from all over as it offers great challenging walks, filled with a stunning backdrop and history.
