On Tuesday 6th February, Mid and North East Essex Mind were invited to Essex Police Special Constabulary’s attestation ceremony at the Essex Police Headquarters in Chelmsford, where new volunteer officers are welcomed to the Constabulary.
Jenny MacPherson, Community Partnerships Fundraiser, gave a few words on the work that the charity does in the local area and was presented with a cheque for £600, raised by the volunteer officers at an auction and raffle at their annual barbecue.
Specials Supt Rayner, who is also one of the trustees of the Essex Police Special Constabulary Charitable Fund, said “Mid and North East Essex Mind does excellent work to support those suffering from mental health difficulties and their families and friends; their work is invaluable. Essex Police is committed to supporting the charity and to raising awareness of the issues faced by those experiencing mental health problems and it was very rewarding for the Special Constabulary to be able to add to that support with this donation which will help the charity continue to provide their vital service.”
Jenny MacPherson said “thank you to the Special Constabulary for supporting Mid and North East Essex Mind and for raising such a brilliant donation for our charity. Support like this goes a long way to helping those experiencing mental health problems so thank you on behalf of our service-users and their families.”
The Essex Police Special Constabulary Charitable Fund was originally set up as benevolent fund to support volunteer officers but now also allows for fundraising for other organisations.
