We are looking for an experienced individual who is committed to ensuring the provision of effective, person-centred support during a mental health crisis. Someone who is respectful and honest and can show empathy to others. Someone who has experience in supporting adults in the community, working as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team, with knowledge of the local community and the support available. Experience of working within Mental Health Services is an advantage. 

We operate from two central locations, one in Colchester and one in Clacton. Our team of Support Workers are supported by the Service Lead and an NHS Mental Health Nurse. The Haven Project also forms part of the service, delivering resilience workshops.

The Crisis Café follows Mid & North East Essex Mind’s values in everything it does, offering a supportive, non-judgemental and empowering service that operates from 16:00 to 23:00, 7 days per week (excluding Bank Holidays). 

You would be working on a 2-week rolling rota, (7 shifts over 14 days – e.g. 2 on/2 off/3 on/2 off/2 on/3 off), which would include working alternate weekends.  The shifts available are in Clacton working 16:00-23:00, 17:00-21:00 or 18:00-22:00 or Colchester working 16:00-23:00 – please indicate in your cover letter which location / shift/s you are applying for. 

As a Crisis Café Mental Health Support Worker, you will be able to do the following:

  • Provide effective day to day shift cover that supports the needs of clients seeking support within the service
  • Be confident in delivering high-quality care when working in ever changing environments, being able to adapt approaches to be versatile in challenging situations
  • Deliver the highest standards of care and support on a consistent basis
  • Be fully compliant with the organisational values and requirements of provision

Hours

4 hour shifts (17:00 – 21:00 or 18:00 – 22:00)

Working on a 2 week rolling rota on a 2/2/3 working pattern.

Week 1 – Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun / Week 2 – Wed, Thu.

Excluding bank holidays.

Salary

£21,255 FTE Salary per annum pro rata

(£10.90 per hour)

Pro rata salaries:

4hr shifts – £7,935.20 pa
