We are delighted to announce that local musician Jobie Baker, part of the band Reno & Rome will be supporting us with his upcoming single ‘Hello’.
Jobie has suffered with anxiety for many years which has had a huge impact on him as a singer
Jobie said ‘I never thought I could worry about worry itself, but it’s possible! I have suffered loss, self-doubt, low self-esteem, feeling of lack of worth and many other day to day feelings that everyone can relate to. When I came out as gay to my friends and my family, the fear and confusion flowing through my mind was almost unbearable. This is why I’m here. To show anyone that suffers from any spectrum of mental health issues, that they aren’t on their own and that it’s okay not to feel okay and that you can achieve anything you want and be whoever you want to be’
Inspired by his grandmother, who sadly passed away in May this year, Jobie has written and recorded the song ‘Hello’ in her memory. At a time where we have seen terrible attacks all over the world Jobie wants to raise awareness of us as a charity and how we can help support people through a mental health problem.
The single will be available to download free of charge from Soundcloud from 19 September. You can donate to Jobie’s page at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/jobiehello.
