In October 2019 Lucy Taylor founder of LucyT Fitness agreed to take on the 2020 Challenge for corporate partners raising funds for Mid and North East Essex Mind.  A total of eight local companies, both big and small, signed up to the challenge to raise £2,020 during 2020 but who was to know that a global pandemic and subsequent lockdowns would be facing them for most of the year.

Despite the difficulties posed with social distancing and many restrictions LucyT Fitness was the only company to successfully complete the challenge.  Raising a total of £2,200 from on line classes, Facebook fundraising and donations from her clients, Lucy did what many others were unable to achieve.

Julie Arthur, Corporate Fundraising Manager for Mid and North East Essex Mind, said:

“Against the odds Lucy continued to work hard to achieve her goal of raising £2,020 for the 2020 Challenge and we are delighted that she didn’t give up.  With our services needed more than ever before following the pandemic it is thanks to companies in our communities that we can continue to provide mental health services locally.  Lucy is a loyal supporter and will continue to raise funds for Mid and North East Essex Mind”

Given the circumstances Mid and North East Essex Mind extended the challenge into 2021 and asked those who signed up to continued fundraising with a new target of £2,021.  It’s not too late to get involved, if you think your company could take on the challenge and raise £2,021 during 2021 contact Julie Arthur at j.arthur@mnessexmind.org for more information and support.
