Mental Health Awareness Week is an annual event, this year taking place from 10th – 16th May, and aims to raise awareness of mental health problems and services that are available to support people.
Mid and North East Essex Mind are the local mental health charity for the area and staff from the charity will be visiting various town and shopping centres during the week engaging with the public, providing tips for good mental wellbeing and raising awareness.
Julie Arthur, Marketing and Fundraising Manager said “Mental Health Awareness Week is our opportunity to promote good mental wellbeing and given that we have all suffered a year unlike any other due to the pandemic, it is even more important for us to focus on our own mental wellbeing as well as that of those around us. Raising awareness and starting conversations about mental health will almost certainly help someone to reach out for help.”
This year the focus is nature and so why not get out in the fresh air and come to meet the Mid and North East Essex Team we will be at the following locations between 10am and 3pm.
- Monday 10th May at Maldon Prom, supported by Moat Foundation
- Tuesday 11th May at Chelmsford, High Street with a special visit from Cllr Jude Deakin, Mayor of Chelmsford
- Wednesday 12th May at Colchester, Lion Walk Shopping Centre supported by Lisa Kirwan, ‘thisfitMum’
- Thursday 13th May at Braintree Village
We are delighted to be joined by some of our special guest charity partners and charity ambassadors and look forward to an exciting week of awareness raising!
