New peer support groups are launched

In June 2017 we joined forces with West Essex Mind and Pheonix Futures to launch a brand new service called Futures in Mind. Through the service people living with a mental health and/or substance misuse problem can access peer support groups, mentors and befrienders.

Following the success of our peer support groups, called Welcome Cafe’s, we are delighted to announce we have started four new Cafe’s. These will take place in Braintree on Tuesdays, Maldon on Wednesdays and Colchester on the first Saturday of the month. In addition to these we have also launched a monthly Aspergers Welcome Cafe in Clacton for adults with ASD looking for support.

More details of these and a full list of all our Welcome Cafe’s, activity groups and special projects can be found here.

Our Welcome Cafe’s are an opportunity to meet others living with a mental health and/ or substance misuse problem and support each other on your recovery journey in a relaxed and friendly environment.

We would like to thank our new venue’s FirstSite, The First Stop Centre, The Cafe at St Peter’s Hospital and the Coastal Community Centre for hosting our groups.
