During August this year, we highlighted 10 myths about mental health in the workplace which we exploded one by one with 10 facts. It just so happens that the theme for ‘World Mental Health Day’ 2017 is ‘Wellbeing in the Workplace’.
What’s it all about?
It might be worth remembering that mental health affects many people in lots of different ways and by raising public awareness, we are helping to reduce stigma and increase wellbeing for those struggling under the cloud of mental illness or related health issues. As this year’s theme is ‘Workplace Wellbeing’ there are many ways you can support us, whether that be out in the local community or even in your own workplace.
How can I help?
Mark October 10th as a red letter day and hold your own special event to help us to raise money and spread the word about mental health. Have you thought about holding a coffee morning for your work colleagues? Many of you may even have room for a special lunch as part of a themed day. For those of you with a sweet tooth, cakes and puddings can be an essential ingredient for a successful fundraising party, all in an effort to raise attention for what really is a worldwide problem in the 21st century.
Who do I contact?
We are here to work with you so we can use the donations raised to help support people in the local area experiencing mental health problems. We can provide you with a fundraising pack and resources including banners, collection buckets, leaflets, balloons and much more. Please do contact us by speaking to Jenny who is ready and waiting with more details:
