Perrywood Garden Centre & Nurseries in Tiptree is supporting Mid and North Essex Mind as one of their charity partners for 2017 and have kick-started the year with some fantastic fundraising!

Some members of staff have taken part in a 28 day fitness challenge and are already on their way to raising £500 which Perrywood will match. Another staff member, Ruth Bonnick, took part in a ‘charity chop’ – cutting her long, waist-length hair to her shoulders.

The garden centre also kindly donated some houseplants to brighten up the charity’s therapy rooms as well as ‘Hygge’ gift boxes for members of its peer support groups to enjoy, which included an array of items such as a candle, plant seeds, confectionery and a mug.

Hygge is a Danish term that describes a feeling or mood that comes from taking pleasure in making ordinary, everyday moments more special, for example taking time to relax with a cup of tea or lighting a candle.

Hannah Powell, Communications Manager at Perrywood, said “Mid and North Essex Mind is an excellent cause and we are really pleased to be supporting them this year. Our team are up for the challenge of raising lots of money in 2017 and have made a great start – watch this space!”

Jenny MacPherson, Community Partnerships Fundraiser at Mid and North Essex Mind, commented: “We are thrilled to be one of Perrywood’s chosen charity partners for 2017. It’s great to see how passionate the staff are with their fundraising and we are looking forward to working with them in the coming months!”
