Mid and North East Essex Mind, your local mental health charity, is delighted to be partnering up with RED January – a month long community initiative that encourages people to get active every day to support their mental health.
You can walk, run, cycle, swim (or whatever you fancy!) – the aim is to get moving daily, whilst raising awareness and support for mental health. It can also give you a focus during what can be a characteristically tough month for some.
RED January is founded on research that shows physical activity can have a positive impact on your wellbeing and even reduce symptoms of mental illness such as depression and anxiety. In the post-RED January survey in 2018, 87% of REDers reported feeling significantly better physically and mentally after getting active every day.
If you wish to take part in RED January in aid of Mid and North East Essex Mind, the money you raise will go directly towards supporting our local services in the community and will help to ensure that everyone who is experiencing a mental health problem gets the help and respect they deserve.
To take part in RED January 2019, you can register for free here.
You can also set up a Just Giving page to easily manage your fundraising total, just visit our campaign page here.
We look forward to going on this journey with you!
