Supporters in Mid Essex are asked to ‘Beat the Blues; Wear Yellow!’

During the month of January, we are asking all schools, businesses and members of the public in the mid-Essex area to ‘Beat the Blues and Wear Yellow’!

The idea is simple! Go Yellow for one day in January and donate to Mid and North East Essex Mind. Whether this be wearing a yellow item of clothing, hosting a yellow-themed coffee morning or bake sale, or decorate your classroom/office in yellow!

The money you raise from this initiative will go directly towards our new Children and Young People’s Service in the mid Essex area.

In an average classroom, 10 young people will have witnessed their parents separate; one will have experienced the death of a parent, and seven will have been bullied. Three young people in every class will suffer with a mental health problem.  In April 2018 we launched our Children and Young People’s Early Intervention Service in Mid Essex and our aim is to be offering one to one emotional wellbeing support to every child in the area who needs it and we need your help to make this happen. The money raised from this initiative will enable us to grow this service so we can reach every child in need of mental health support.

If you, your school or business would like to support Mid and North East Essex Mind by taking part in ‘Beat the Blues and Wear Yellow’! in January, simply send our fundraising team an email with the name and contact details of the school. We will then send you out your Beat the Blues fundraising pack in the post!
