At Mid and North East Essex Mind, like all charities, we have had a tough year when it comes to fundraising but we know that taking part in an activity, feeling that sense of achievement and being physically active are all great for your mental well being so we are delighted to be launching ‘Something for Everyone’ this Christmas.
Something for everyone comprises of three fundraising activities for people to take part in, there should be something to engage all age groups and abilities and at the same time raise valuable funds for your local mental health charity. Our services are needed more than ever before and we believe that no one should face a mental health problem alone.
12ks of Christmas
Walk, jog or run 12ks in the run up to Christmas, you can either do 12ks in one go or 1k per day for 12 days or 3ks a week for four weeks, the choice is yours. £12 to enter and get sponsored by your family, friends and colleagues.
Send us a screenshot of your tracked 12ks and be entered into a prize draw for a beautiful Christmas hamper very kindly donated by Poplar Nurseries. Find out more here.
Mental Elf Hunt
Santa’s Elves have been social distancing because of Coronavirus and Santa doesn’t know where they are! Can you help him find them and spot the mischief they’ve been up to during lockdown?!
Get the children out and about in the run up to Christmas and look for our 10 cheeky elves; exercise and laughter are great for everyone’s mental well being, children and adults alike!
It’s £5 to enter and you’ll receive a clue sheet to help you find the elves. You can choose to hunt for our Elves in Colchester Town Centre, which you can take part in now or Braintree Shopping Village which will be available when stores open again on 2nd December 2020.

Fire Walk
The shortest, hottest and scariest walk of the year!! It may be difficult for us to have the traditional company Christmas event this year, so why not get your colleagues together to take part in our Fire Walk on 27th February 2021 instead or buy a place as an unusual Christmas gift for that person you just don’t know what to buy for.
The Fire Walk will take place at Colchester United Football ground and is being sponsored by DNA Technical Architecture. It’s only £30 to enter but we are asking participants to raise £100 in sponsorship. Read more here.
