Time to Talk Day

Time to Talk Day is the nation’s biggest mental health conversation. Happening every year, it’s a day for friends, families, communities, and workplaces to come together to talk, listen and change lives. Led by the national mental health charities Mind and Rethink Mental Illness in partnership with Co-op, the day is an opportunity to start conversations with family, friends or colleagues about mental health.

This year it will be taking place on Thursday 02 February 2023.

What we’ll be doing

We are excited to be taking part in Time to Talk Day 2023.

Say hello on the Chatty Bus

On Thursday 02 February we will be on the Chatty Bus with Hedingham and Chambers, which will become a mobile Human Library for the day!

Beginning its journey at the Stanway Co-op Foodstore, located on Stanway Retail Park off Peartree Road, the Chatty Bus will be on site from 10am until noon before heading across to the Clacton Shopping Village on Stephenson Road in Clacton on Sea, where it will be positioned from 1pm to 3pm.

Come along to the match at Colchester United

On Saturday 04 February we will be at the Colchester United football match at the JobServe Community Stadium in Colchester. Essex.

We’ll be talking about mental health with advertising across the stadium, a competition for spectators and all of the footy team wearing our branded t-shirts as part of their warm up!

Visit the Colchester United website to find out more about the fixture and book your tickets.

How you can get involved

Talking and listening about mental health has the power to change lives. Each conversation we have contributes to reducing mental health stigma, helping to create supportive communities where we can talk openly about mental health and feel empowered to seek help when we need it.

There are lots of ways to get involved, from sharing on social media using #TimeToTalk and having conversations with your friends and family, to organising activity and events.

If you’d like to organise an activity or event, you can download a free resources pack from the Time to Talk website.

If you would like information about Mid and North East Essex Mind services, we can supply you with leaflets. We also have fundraising materials and balloons, just get in touch!

Email us at fundraising@mnessexmind.org or call us on 01206 764600.
