Wellbeing at Writtle College

Staff from Mid and North East Essex Mind had a brilliant day recently at the Wellbeing Day Event held at Writtle College, Essex. The aim was to reach out to students and let them know what help is in the community with how they are feeling, as we believe no one should have to face mental health difficulties alone.

On the day, we provided relevant information on what support is available to students in the Mid Essex area, whether that was receiving practical support or discovering more about our Youthful Wellbeing Service to having access to emotional support from the Sanctuary Café. The students appreciated the wide range of leaflets available to them that day, from coping strategies on how to deal with panic attacks to managing sleepless nights.

We worked closely with Sam from Writtle College’s Wellbeing Team, to ensure that students had access to this information and felt welcomed to ask questions or take leaflets.

It was a great opportunity to work collaboratively to ensure that students know how to seek help when they feel they’re struggling. We were excited to reach out to over 50 students on the day, and we look forward to attending other events that promote emotional wellbeing.
