Colchester United Football Club join us for Time to Talk Day!

Time to Talk Day: Let’s Start the Conversation

Time to Talk Day is the UK’s biggest mental health conversation—a chance for friends, families, communities, and workplaces to come together, talk, and listen.

We’re thrilled that Colchester United FC have shown their continued support for local mental health support and what better way to mark Time to Talk Day than a chat with the men’s team captain, Tom Flanagan.

Tom sat down with our awesome volunteer, Lee Mullan, for an open and honest chat about his own experiences with mental health.

Watch the full conversation below and join us in breaking the stigma—one conversation at a time.

This weekend’s home game against Walsall is dedicated to encouraging both supporters and staff to feel comfortable opening up about their mental health.

Our team from Mid and North East Essex Mind will be attending the game, ready to provide information about the services we offer and to create a safe, welcoming space for anyone who wants to talk.

One of our key services is the North East Essex Sanctuary, based in Colchester and Clacton. Open seven days a week, 365 days a year, the Sanctuary offers vital mental health support to those in need. Anyone can refer themselves to this service, ensuring that help is always available when it’s needed most.

Ahead of the game on Saturday afternoon, you’ll see Colchester United players warming up in our Mid and North East Essex branded shirts, showing their support for mental health awareness.
