Mid & North East Essex Mind Relocates its Crisis Café to Clacton Town Centre

Mid and North East Essex Mind has relocated its Crisis Cafe to Clacton town centre to make it more accessible for all.

The Crisis Café offers a safe, welcoming space where people who are experiencing emotional distress or a mental health crisis can receive help outside of office hours. The support centre has relocated from its previous premises at Crusader Business Park, Clacton, to Pier Avenue in the town centre.

The new central location will mean more people can easily access the service from Clacton and the wider Tendring area.

Ginny Idehen, CEO, Mid and North East Essex Mind, explains: “The new location in Clacton is very central, easy to find and accessible by public transport. The new venue will help us be more visible in the local community and will provide a reassuring space for people to reach out for support when they need it.”

She continued: “The centre offers vital mental wellbeing support. Trained staff are on hand to talk through issues and enable those suffering mental health issues a route to health and happiness.”

The Crisis Café is at 55 Pier Avenue, Clacton and is open between 5 – 10pm, seven days a week (except Bank Holidays). Face to face appointments need to be made in advance by phoning 0300 3309492. The service is available via self-referral or GP referral. The Crisis Café also offers telephone support between 2 – 10pm.
