The festive season can bring a mix of emotions. For some people it’s a time of connection and celebration; for others it can feel overwhelming, lonely, or simply different to how they expected it to be. However this time of year feels for you, your wellbeing matters, and small steps can make a real difference.
We’ve put together some gentle ideas to help you look after your emotional needs over the holidays.
Our opening hours and support over the festive season
Our Colchester office will be closed to visitors from 5pm on Wednesday 24 December and will reopen on Friday 2 January 2026.
Sanctuary support services
Our Sanctuary services in Mid and North East Essex will remain open throughout the festive and New Year period, including bank holidays.
North East Essex
Access the North East Essex Sanctuary by visiting neesanctuary.co.uk or calling 0300 330 9492.
Mid Essex
If you live in the Mid Essex area, you can reach the Mid Essex Sanctuary through NHS 111, select option 2.
