We are thrilled to announce that Mid and North East Essex Mind has been selected once again as one of the charity partners for this year’s Invasion Colchester event. This incredible opportunity will help us raise much-needed funds to continue supporting our community’s mental health needs.
Invasion Colchester is set to bring the city’s streets alive on Saturday, 7 September. From 10am to 4pm, the city centre will be transformed into a vibrant hub of superheroes, iconic cars, live music, and entertainment. As part of this fantastic event, Mid and North East Essex Mind will benefit from the proceeds collected through donation buckets and a raffle.
Reflecting on the event, our CEO, Ginny Idehen, shared her excitement: “Invasion Colchester has become a great annual event in the city, and it’s an honour to be one of the charity partners. With several superheroes from Batman to Iron Man experiencing their own mental health issues in their narratives, it is also a very apt partnership.”
Ginny also highlighted the importance of community participation: “As well as receiving a third of all donations made on the day, Mid and North East Essex Mind will benefit from the raffle. We encourage everyone who can afford to, to get a raffle ticket or two. They will be helping us support people with mental health issues, and they could also win some great prizes!”
Kerrie Williams, from Ace Comics and organiser of Invasion Colchester, expressed her enthusiasm about our collaboration: “We’re delighted to be working with Mid and North East Essex Mind. It’s great to have them onboard and we hope to raise lots of money for them to carry on the great work they do in the area.”
This event promises to be an exciting day filled with fun and community spirit. We invite everyone to join us on Saturday, 7 September, from 10am to 4pm, across the city centre. To learn more about Invasion Colchester, visit: www.invasioncolchester.co.uk
