Paul’s Round Britain Cruise is underway!

Paul Blyth, joined by his son Jack, friend Chris Kelly and mascot “Lucky” left Tollesbury Marina on 25 April aboard his boat Mutual Friend to participate in the Old Gaffers Association (OGA) 60th Jubilee Around Britain Cruise.

The fleet departed from Ramsgate on 1 May and are now making way to the Solent, to arrive in Cowes, Isle of White for 6 May. As they sail around the UK the OGA will be hosting celebrations at the ports of Plymouth, Milford Haven, Dublin, Oban, River Tay, Blyth & the River Orwell. The trip is 2000 nautical miles and Paul is aiming to return back to Essex mid-August.

Two years ago, Paul unexpectedly became very unwell with a heart condition which had a debilitating effect on his wellbeing. The health anxiety consumed him, and he didn’t think he would ever be well enough to register for the trip.

With the help of Mid & North East Essex Mind he has been able to improve his mental wellbeing and balance daily stresses to keep his heart healthy and mindset rational.

The crew will be raising as much money as possible to say thank you.
Please donate if you can, every donation of any sum will be so very much appreciated!
