We are proud to be one of the Mayor of Colchester’s chosen charities
We’re delighted that the Mayor of Colchester, Councillor Andrew Ellis, has chosen Mid and North East Essex Mind as one of his four charities for 2026/27.
Alongside Camp Jojo, Colchester Zoological Society and the Army Benevolent Fund, we’ll benefit from fundraising events organised by the Mayor and Mayoress throughout the year. Their theme, ‘Growing Well – Helping Colchester Flourish’, celebrates the community we’re proud to be part of.
For us, this support means a great deal. As your local Mind, we’re here for people across mid and north east Essex who need support with their mental health. Local fundraising helps us continue this work, while opportunities like these help more people hear about the support available to them.
On Sunday 11 October, our Senior Fundraiser, Lisa, joined Camp Jojo at The Minories for an exclusive preview of Out of Line: Banksy and the Art of Dissent, raising vital funds for all four charities.
Lisa had a brilliant evening exploring the exhibition, meeting others from the local community and spending time with our fellow charities. It was lovely to see people come together to support causes close to their hearts.
A big thank you to the Mayor and Mayoress, Andrew and Nicky Ellis, for choosing to support us, and to everyone involved in organising and attending the special preview evening. We’re grateful for the time, care and generosity that go into making these events happen.
There will be more opportunities to get involved throughout the year, and we’ll share details as they’re announced.
We’d love to see you there.
